Job description

DNV – Maritime Region Greater China is looking for a surveyor to join our Fleet in Service Team inJiangyin & Shanghai. You will be the member of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors serving vessels docked inJiangyin & Nantong & Shanghaiand vessels calling ports and terminals along Yangtze River.

DNV – Maritime RegionGreater China is looking for a fleet in service Surveyor based inZhoushan. You will be member of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors serving traditional shipping segments (Oil/chemical tanker, Container) docked inZhoushanislands and vessel calling Ningbo-Zhoushan Port.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the work or duties performed are in accordance with the rules, regulations, instructions, guidelines and quality requirements of the organization and the instructions of the line management.

• Maintain the confidentiality of clients' business, processes, designs, developments and documentation

• Communicate to line management at the earliest appropriate opportunity if in receipt of information that is important to the reputation or integrity of the organization.

• Exhibit customer-oriented focus through promoting DNV onboard or on-site, and by acting as a technical resource for customer questions.
  

Qualifications

• University degree (Naval Architect, Marine Engineer & Electricians) from a recognized University

• Min. 3 years of experience in maritime business

• Self-disciplined and continuous learner

• Adequate physical fitness in order to perform regular functions on the job, e.g. climbing pilot ladders & tanks, crew boat launches, voyage surveys.

• English proficiency both in speaking and writing

• Flexibility in traveling is required

• Availability outside normal working hours if the job requires

• Able to work independently on surveys.

Advantages

• Passed China MSA surveyor examination (Group A)

• Related newbuilding or fleet in service experience with IACS member society

• Technical competencies: Understanding of class & statutory surveys and responsibilities

• Maritime Management System audit experience
