“ SpaceTime 2023國(guó)際學(xué)生海報(bào)競(jìng)賽”為在大學(xué)/大學(xué)級(jí)別或高中/中學(xué)級(jí)別上學(xué)的學(xué)生提供了一個(gè)在國(guó)內(nèi)和國(guó)際上展示其基于計(jì)算機(jī)的媒體創(chuàng)意作品的絕佳機(jī)會(huì)。國(guó)際評(píng)審員將根據(jù)主題，藝術(shù)價(jià)值，設(shè)計(jì)，原創(chuàng)性，技術(shù)卓越和內(nèi)容的解決方案對(duì)參賽作品進(jìn)行評(píng)判。

Space Time2023的主題是：50 Years of SIGGRAPH（跟我們一起慶祝SIGGRAPH 50 周年紀(jì)念），并與ACM SIGGRAPH(美國(guó)計(jì)算機(jī)協(xié)會(huì)計(jì)算機(jī)圖形專業(yè)組）的愿景聲明保持一致。

由國(guó)際學(xué)生藝術(shù)送選的作品中，（Shengyu Wang）王晟昱獲得二等獎(jiǎng)， 除獲獎(jiǎng)證書外，獲獎(jiǎng)?wù)哌€將有資格進(jìn)入每年一度的SIGGRAPH會(huì)議。另有李佳穆、劉芯亦獲得榮譽(yù)獎(jiǎng)。恭喜以上同學(xué)，希望更多同學(xué)參加到國(guó)際藝術(shù)比賽中來，取得更多好成績(jī)。

SpaceTime 2023: Second Place

Title:Wisdom leads the future

Artist (Student Name):Shengyu Wang

Artist’s Statement:

Wang Shengyu has liked to open his mind and explore novel things since he was a child. When he was a child, he especially liked to create various game cards and game characters by hand. When he grew up, he came into contact with the new media of computer. After owning his own computer, he not only often designs some homework posters, but also makes some 3D games. At present, he plans to study the combination of computer, piano and painting. He hopes that with the development of AI technology, he can create more diverse design works in the future .

Technical Statement:

This work is mainly completed by the combination of Adobe Photoshop software and hand-painted board. The background uses the hand-painted board to draw human beings' continuous exploration of new technologies and the future in the vast universe, and rapid development through continuous research. The foreground uses Photoshop to superimpose mathematical and scientific patterns to express the creation of computer science by human beings' constant pursuit of knowledge. Finally, the patterns of computer intelligent circuits are superimposed to show that after the emergence of technology, intelligent technology is the accelerator of the world's rapid development. The development of the human world is changing with each passing day, and the wide application of computers will lead the world with intelligence and accelerate the future development of mankind with intelligence.

Artist’s Statement:

I want to become an artist because I am loyal to my own choices, thoughts, and talents. This is the wealth created by heaven for me, so in order to make good use of it, I unleash my value and maintain a productive person.

I was inspired by the universe and circuits, the infinite universe transformed into an infinite circuit, a computer. They have played a huge role in our lives and helped me better complete my work, because in my mind, computers are like the universe. Disassembling computers to observe circuits, understanding the history of computers, and using PS technology to see the infinite universe have all stimulated and inspired me.

The words' universe 'and' infinity'have highly influenced my works, including the 50th anniversary. Through simple electronic painting, I implemented them on the screen. Using art as a manifestation of thought and hope, weaving reality and imagination together. Describe the computer world, universe world, and art world that I envision.

This work combines the theme of the 50th anniversary with the characteristics of computers, such as being able to only recognize binary digits 1 and 2. As one of the characteristics of computer evolution, the images have become clearer, so representative pixels have been used as the subiect matter in this painting. And when I compare the field of computers to the infinite universe, it not only demonstrates that computers have infinite exploration like the universe, but also feels that computers stimulate people's curiosity about them like the universe. The painting of white circuits adds richness to the work, as they interweave with the elements of the universe, reflecting my thoughts.

Artist’s Statement:

I saw many articles about computer graphics and interactive technology on the blog of the ACM SIGGRAPH institution, among which I am very interested in the section Women's History Month: Featuring Women of The SIGGRAPH Community, which is all about female creators , animators, artists, researchers, filmmakers... The reports and interviews on the development of this industry are very encouraging for people like me who like to draw and make friends with art since I was a child. Women in the art industry are one of the participants. I see more and more women and Asian faces in the SIGGRAPH Community, which makes me more enthusiastic and confident about art.

Technical Statement:

Because the purpose of ACM SIGGRAPH is to promote the generation and dissemination of computer graphics and interactive technology information, I used photoshop to make the most striking theme of my poster: "50 Years of SIGGRAPH", composed of ladders, step by step Go, although there are setbacks and difficulties, but the development is getting better and better; using software collage to make a computer with a sense of age, which is related to the development of computers; because the logo of the organization is like a planet, the whole community It is a small world, so I drew this scene with proceate, hoping to create a small universe where all those who love computer graphics and interactive technology will move forward together.

Title:Past and Present Connections - SIGGRAPH 50th Anniversary

Artist’s Statement:

I am a freshman college student pursuing a Graphic Design Degree, planning to become a freelance designer. My work constantly changes with new and coming ideas from myself and the world around me. My passion for art and design has always been a part of who I am and through creating art, it's a way of expression of myself. My work is mostly made up of digital artwork, but I do not limit myself to medium, style, or concept. When describing my art, the most important elements are the use of lines and the use of vibrant colors to make the work an eye-catching sight, but also through those elements, it allows my work to tell a story that I let the viewer interpret through the subject's interactions within the pieces. With my art and design, and as Graphic Design Club President for my university, with every piece I make, I strive that through my design, it gives the viewer a look into my world as an artist.

Technical Statement:

My poster design uses the apps of the Sketchbook IOS app and Photoshop for the final edits of the digital work. The idea for this poster comes from the theme of celebrating the 50th anniversary of SIGGRAPH and I wanted to connect a storytelling element to it. I design the layout in a comic-book style with the main characters of the piece interacting with each other. On the left side are characters that are from the beginning of the technology that on the right shows the advancements it has made in computer graphics and interactive techniques throughout the 50 years SIGGRAPH has been in session. Through the vibrant colors and elements added throughout the design, it gives the viewer more of an insight into some of the advancements technology has progressed through such as how animation advanced but also video games/virtual reality.

Title:The Gears of Time

Artist (Student Name):Nina Jeffries-El

Artist’s Statement:

Inspired by the 50 year Anniversary Theme of SIGGRAPH I wanted to focus on the time aspect of this anniversary. I decided to focus on this by showing the mechanical aspects behind a clock, and how the gears put together the entire mechanism. I highlighted a large clock in the center to be the “moon” of this gear constellation. Because the name of the competition is the SpaceTime Competition, I decided to set my gears in a “space like” background and create a connected constellation.

Technical Statement:

For my illustration I used illustrator and photoshop to create the different gears. I created my initial sketch in photoshop, and transitioned to illustrator to flesh out my ideas. I mainly used the pen tool to create the different shapes that made up the main clock, and used the brush tool for some of the background details. In illustrator I used different shapes to create the stars in the constellation and changed the colors.
