Designed by CraftsPOD Design Studio, Prismaa Oncoimaging in Surat is a 4000 sq ft PET CT scan centre that redefines clinical architecture with human-centred and culturally rooted design. Breaking the cold stereotype of medical spaces, it blends functional efficiency with emotional comfort, addressing the physical and psychological needs of patients. Warm natural materials, soft colour tones and strategic spatial planning craft a soothing modern healthcare environment, mitigating the anxiety of diagnostic procedures and turning the clinical space into a warm harbor of healing.

由 CraftsPOD Design Studio 打造的印度蘇拉特 Prismaa Oncoimaging 影像中心，是一座以人文為核、根植本土文化的 4000 平方英尺 PET CT 掃描中心，重新定義了醫(yī)療建筑的模樣。它打破醫(yī)療空間的冰冷刻板印象，將功能效率與情感慰藉相融，精準(zhǔn)契合診療患者的身心需求。溫潤(rùn)的天然材質(zhì)、柔和的色調(diào)搭配與巧思的空間規(guī)劃，打造出舒緩的現(xiàn)代醫(yī)療環(huán)境，消解診療帶來(lái)的焦慮，讓臨床空間成為溫暖的療愈港灣。

The centre adopts a warm and tactile material palette, with natural wood finishes, muted terracotta tones and soft greys as the main hues, injecting gentle warmth into the medical space and softening the sense of formality of diagnosis and treatment. Glass partitions and louvred wood elements run through the whole space, ensuring open visual connectivity while maintaining proper privacy and excellent ventilation. Biophilic accents are interspersed in every corner, with green plants breathing life into the space, creating a grounded and comforting atmosphere that makes patients feel relaxed from the touch of materials and the sight of greenery.

該影像中心采用溫潤(rùn)且富有觸感的材質(zhì)配色，以天然木飾面、低飽和度陶土色與柔和灰色為主調(diào)，為醫(yī)療空間注入溫柔暖意，柔化了診療的嚴(yán)肅感。玻璃隔斷與木質(zhì)百葉元素貫穿整個(gè)空間，在保證視覺(jué)通透的同時(shí)，兼顧了適度的隱私性與良好的通風(fēng)性。自然綠植點(diǎn)綴在各個(gè)角落，鮮活的綠意為空間賦予生命力，營(yíng)造出沉穩(wěn)且治愈的氛圍，讓患者從材質(zhì)的觸感與綠意的視覺(jué)中獲得身心的松弛。

The double-volume reception area is the architectural highlight of the centre, with a soaring ceiling breaking the sense of confinement of traditional medical spaces and bringing a sense of openness and grandeur to visitors. A minimal floating staircase with wooden treads and black metal railings acts as a vertical connector and a sculptural feature, adding modern artistic charm. Most notably, a small inbuilt temple is nestled in a curved wooden niche, a culturally sensitive design that blends spirituality with medical architecture, offering patients a moment of pause and reflection and balancing clinical efficiency with local cultural mindfulness.

挑高雙層的接待區(qū)是整個(gè)中心的建筑亮點(diǎn)，高聳的天花板打破了傳統(tǒng)醫(yī)療空間的壓抑感，為到訪者帶來(lái)開(kāi)闊的空間體驗(yàn)與儀式感。木質(zhì)踏步搭配纖細(xì)黑色金屬欄桿的懸浮式極簡(jiǎn)樓梯，既是豎向交通的連接體，亦是極具現(xiàn)代美感的雕塑裝置。尤為點(diǎn)睛的是，弧形木質(zhì)壁龕中嵌入的小型祈福堂，這份根植本土的文化巧思，讓精神療愈與醫(yī)療建筑相融，為患者提供了靜心沉思的角落，平衡了醫(yī)療的高效性與本土的文化溫度。

The centre utilises an ingenious split-level design, creating layered spatial volumes and maximising the use of the limited site separated by beams, with the double-volume area as the physical and visual core connecting the three functional zones. Waiting areas are placed at the front to capture ample natural light, easing patients’ anxious moods with bright and warm space. Private functional areas such as the PET-CT machine room, offices and restricted zones are arranged at the rear, ensuring the privacy and stability of diagnosis and treatment. Glass and wooden louvred partitions unify open spaces, making the layered layout both functional and visually coherent.

影像中心采用巧思的錯(cuò)層設(shè)計(jì)，在被橫梁分割的有限場(chǎng)地上，打造出富有層次的空間體量并實(shí)現(xiàn)利用率最大化，以雙層挑高區(qū)域作為物理與視覺(jué)核心，串聯(lián)起三大功能分區(qū)。等候區(qū)被布置在場(chǎng)地前端，最大限度引入自然光線，以明亮溫暖的空間消解患者的焦慮情緒；PET-CT 機(jī)房、辦公區(qū)及限制區(qū)域等私密功能區(qū)則置于后端，保障了診療工作的私密性與穩(wěn)定性。玻璃與木質(zhì)百葉隔斷讓開(kāi)放空間相融一體，讓層次化的布局既滿(mǎn)足功能需求，又實(shí)現(xiàn)視覺(jué)的連貫統(tǒng)一。

Lighting design is both functional and atmospheric, with strategically placed windows and glass partitions guiding natural light to filter gently into the space, reducing dependence on harsh artificial lighting during the day and casting a warm glow over the whole centre. Recessed ceiling lights provide even, shadow-free functional illumination, while accent lights highlight key architectural details like the curved wooden reception desk, enhancing the spatial layering. Suspended sculptural wooden lights in the double-volume area draw the eye upward, adding artistic texture. The interplay of natural and artificial light crafts a visually uplifting and emotionally reassuring ambiance for patients.

這里的燈光設(shè)計(jì)兼具功能性與氛圍感，經(jīng)精心規(guī)劃的開(kāi)窗與玻璃隔斷引導(dǎo)自然光輕柔漫入空間，白天大幅減少對(duì)冷硬人工光源的依賴(lài)，為整個(gè)中心披上一層溫暖的柔光。嵌入式筒燈提供均勻無(wú)陰影的功能照明，重點(diǎn)射燈則勾勒出弧形木質(zhì)接待臺(tái)等建筑細(xì)節(jié)，提升了空間的層次感。雙層挑高區(qū)懸掛的雕塑感木質(zhì)燈具牽引視線向上，增添了藝術(shù)肌理。自然光與人工光的交織互動(dòng)，為患者打造出視覺(jué)舒展、內(nèi)心安定的療愈氛圍。

Thoughtful wayfinding and signage design combines marked spaces with informative medical imagery, not only guiding patients to navigate the centre easily but also subtly educating them about medical knowledge, reducing the sense of unfamiliarity and fear caused by ignorance. Biophilic elements are integrated into every functional zone, with indoor plants placed beside the reception desk, in waiting areas and along the corridors, bringing the vitality of nature into the clinical space. These human-centred details make the medical facility feel like a warm hospitality setting, fostering a sense of care and tranquillity and making the diagnostic experience less intimidating for patients.

貼心的導(dǎo)視系統(tǒng)將清晰的空間標(biāo)識(shí)與科普性醫(yī)療影像相融，不僅讓患者能輕松穿梭于各個(gè)區(qū)域，更以潛移默化的方式傳遞醫(yī)療知識(shí)，減少因陌生而產(chǎn)生的恐懼與不安。自然綠植元素融入每個(gè)功能區(qū)，接待臺(tái)旁、等候區(qū)內(nèi)、走廊兩側(cè)皆有綠植點(diǎn)綴，將自然的生命力搬進(jìn)臨床空間。這些以人為本的細(xì)節(jié)設(shè)計(jì)，讓專(zhuān)業(yè)的醫(yī)療場(chǎng)所擁有了精品休憩空間的溫潤(rùn)感，營(yíng)造出滿(mǎn)含關(guān)懷的靜謐氛圍，讓患者的診療體驗(yàn)不再充滿(mǎn)壓迫感。

Prismaa Oncoimaging perfectly balances the professional seriousness of a medical facility with the warm ease of a hospitality space, setting a new benchmark for diagnostic architecture. It abandons the single functional design of traditional medical buildings, and takes the patient's psychological and emotional needs as the core of design while ensuring operational efficiency. From material selection and spatial planning to cultural integration and detail design, every aspect is rooted in human-centred thinking. This project exemplifies that medical architecture can be elevated by thoughtful design, turning a place of diagnosis into a space of humanistic healing that cares for both the body and the soul.
